How to view email headers

Gmail Headers

  1. Open mail.google.com

  2. Open the email you wish to view the headers of.

  3. On the top right of the email next to reply, click the three dots (more) → Show original.

Outlook Web

  1. Open outlook.live.com

  2. Open the email you wish to view the headers of.

  3. On the top right of the email, click the three dots → View → View message source.

Outlook App

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. Open the email you wish to view the headers of.

  3. Click File → Properties.

  4. Headers will display in the "Internet headers" box.

Apple Mail

  1. Open Apple Mail.

  2. Open the email you wish to view the headers of.

  3. Click View → Message → All Headers.

  4. Headers will display in the window below your inbox.

  1. Click on an email to open it.

  2. Click the More icon (...).

  3. Select View Raw Message.

Proton Mail

  • Web App

    1. Log in to your account at mail.proton.me and open an email.

    2. Go to More (3-dot icon) →View headers.

  • Android / iOS

    1. Log in to the Proton Mail app and open an email.

    2. Tap the 3-dot menu icon at the bottom right of the screen →View headers.

Zoho Mail

  1. Open the email whose headers you would like to view.

  2. Click the More Actions drop-down on the right corner of the email.

  3. Choose the Show Original option.
