Understanding the Rejected Email Notification Setting in ImprovMX
Overview
The "Refused Email Notification" feature in ImprovMX is a setting designed for users who want to be notified when ImprovMX rejects an email that they sent or received.
Why does ImprovMX reject emails?
ImprovMX may reject an email due to one of the following reasons:
Email is marked as SPAM
The recipient mailbox does not exist
The recipient mailbox is full
The recipient previously rejected an email from ImprovMX
If your privacy level is set to allow it, you may still download some of failed emails. You can learn more about changing your privacy settings here
How it works
Disabled (Default Setting): ImprovMX may reject an email for one of the reasons above. You will not be notified about this via email. You may still learn more about the rejected email in your domain's logs.
Enabled: ImprovMX will continue to reject emails for the reasons above. However, when this happens, ImprovMX will now send you a email notification, containing information about the rejected emails over the past 24 hours. You can also learn more about the rejected email in your domain's logs.
How to enable rejected email notifications
Log in to your ImprovMX dashboard.
Click on the domain you wish to configure.
Go to the Custom Settings section.
Find the Refused Emails Notification toggle
To enable or disable this setting, simply switch the toggle accordingly.
Click the 'Update your domain settings" button to confirm the change.
